Terms & Policies

Please be sure to read these as you are agreeing to them when you buy from Singing Slowly.

Payment:
Payments are accepted via Paypal only. 
Payment must be completed with 24 hours of invoicing or the sale will be cancelled. 
Purchases cannot be cancelled once they have been shipped.



Shipping:

Items are shipped within 3 business days of purchase unless otherwise mentioned. All items are shipped via Standard Air Mail (Royal Mail) uninsured & not trackable unless otherwise mentioned. To insure your item, please mention this in your email so that you can be invoiced extra for that. All insurance & expedited shipping is extra & based on postal rates.

Deliveries may take longer during holiday season.
I am not responsible for delays incurred due hold ups at International Customs (when your goods are traveling outside the United Kingdom). 

Also, I do my very best to get the goods out as soon as they are ready to ship. Once they are picked up by the mail carrier, I have no control whatsoever on the speed or location of the package - nobody does.

Delivery times depend on the distance of the destination from the city of London, UK. Once an item has been shipped it cannot be insured, expedited or canceled.

***It is the sole responsibility of the buyer to pay import duty (if applicable) & all related Customs fees in their country of residence. It is also the buyer's responsibility to find out from their local customs office what (if any) charges may be incurred when importing from outside their country. ***

All UK customers are required to pay 20% VAT on their purchases, since I am a business based in the UK & am required submit taxes to HMRC on all UK sales. Non-UK customers are not charged any Taxes or VAT but need to be aware of their own country's policies on imports.

Packages are packed simply to both protect your purchases & to keep waste down. If you need something specially packed, please ask & we can go from there.

Much as I would like to believe that worldwide postal services quiver at the sound of my name, they're not amused when I do my Darth Vader impression! I really do not own the postal workers of the world so cannot do much if your package is held up or delayed after I have shipped it to you. *Please* make your purchases well ahead of time so that shipping or Customs delays do not affect you :)


If your package is retained at your local postal depot, please contact them if you have a tracking number (tracking costs extra) to resolve the issue. Packages can only be released by people to whom they are addressed. There is nothing I can do in this situation except offer suggestions or information.



Refunds and Exchanges:

-Singing Slowly considers exchanging all items within 14 days of buyers receiving them should the buyer be unhappy with the item. 
-Ready to ship items will be refunded minus a re-stocking fee of US$3.50 *per item* unless you wish to exchange them for other ready-made items.
-Custom orders can only be partially refunded as they are made specifically to the buyers requirements. Refunds will be made minus the cost of material & labor.
-If the items were sewn to a person's body measurement, no refunds are made.
-All custom purchases made without providing ALL the required information will be cancelled & refunded within 24 hours.


I've tried to represent the fabric colors as accurately as possible, however they may vary slightly based on your monitor. If this is unacceptable, Singing Slowly robes may not be for you. 
Print (motif) placement may vary slightly on the final garment based on size, length & custom requirements.
***Items returned because of shipping delays out of my control (items reaching you after your deadline) or non-payment of customs duty in the country of destination will be refunded minus a re-stocking fee of US$3.50 *per item* (regardless of quantity). Shipping fees will not be refunded for such returns.***

Should your package go missing on its way to you, an investigation will be opened into a lost or very delayed package *35 working days after the package was mailed*. This means you'll need to wait it out till then. I cannot refund a purchase till the shipping company confirms that it is no longer trackable & is indeed lost. Please make sure you're OK with this before you make a purchase.

-Exchanges must be received in their original, unworn and unused condition and the original order number must be provided. 
-In the event an item arrives in a condition where it cannot be resold, no refunds will be made. *The buyer is required to pay return shipping in all cases*.
-Also, for return shipments please be sure to get a tracking number as items can only be refunded once they are received.
-For custom items, there are no refunds for wrong sizes provided by the customer. If the fit matters, please let me know your correct measurements. Also, if a bridesmaid backs out at the last minute & I have already sewn an item, there is no refund. You are free to order a new custom item, however.
-There are no alterations available for "ready made" items - only exchanges or refunds.
-Any changes made to custom orders 24 hours after they are placed will cost extra.
-Exchanges can be made using only fabrics or items that are currently available.



Care instructions:

Please care gently for your Singing Slowly purchase :)
-Almost all my fabrics are light weight or very light weight cottons. This means you may need to wear a cami underneath for the very light weigh fabrics (based on your preference).
-WASH ONLY WITH LIKE COLORS (OR SEPARATELY) AS SOME COLORS CAN BE LESS FAST THAN OTHERS. I cannot guarantee color fastness as I do not manufacture the fabrics I use.
-Iron cottons on medium heat & all other fabrics on low heat.
-Silk items must only be dry cleaned.
-Sometimes 'tailor's chalk' marks are visible on light colored garments. These will wash off quickly and are not permanent.
-Items may get crumpled during shipping. These can be ironed upon arrival.
-Please do not pull at any loose threads you see as this will damage both the sewing & the fabric. Cut them off with a scissor instead.

Singing Slowly reserves the right in its sole discretion to refuse service at any time. Sale of any goods or services is subject to availability.
